I cannot recommend Kate enough if you are looking to building an incredible relationship with your horse. My mare became very scared and unpredictable after pulling a fence over onto herself. I then became fearful of working with her. Through progressive ground work exercises we got past it. I learned to be a leader for her and she became a partner for me. I now have a special bond with this horse that I had given up on before working with Kate.
So worth the time and effort!!!

I have known Kate for about 15 years now and could not have asked for a better experience or trainer. She is a very gifted and knowledgeable equestrian and makes sessions into more than just riding. She always emphasized on the importance of ground work and manners, communication with the horses, anatomy, genetics, and most importantly, how to have fun in a safe environment. After coming off my horse unexpectedly many years ago and spending a couple days in the ICU, I was done with riding horses. After recovering, I wanted to conquer my fear and get back up on a horse but doubted I would find enjoyment in riding. Kate not only (with a ton of patience) got me back up on a horse but soon had me riding and quite surprisingly enjoying it! She taught me a lot about not only riding techniques but also my emotional relationship with the horse. This nonverbal body language and spiritual intent has served me well many years later. Now in my mid 70's I truly enjoy riding my two horses several times a week and training my year-old filly. I can never thank you enough Kate!

I began working with Kate as a new rider. She was so patient, kind, and willing to help me truly understand horses so I could conquer any fear or question I had. Her knowledge on training, horsemanship, horse behavior is far beyond anyone else I have ever worked with. I had the privilege of watching Kate work her talent in many different settings from working with clients horses, training her own horses, working with kids, working with other adults during clinics, and I can tell you she is simply amazing in anything you throw at her. She has a drive to continue to learn to better her skills and knowledge for the benefit of the horses and clients she works with. Kate Thomas trained our two minis on a weekly basis for over a year. Kate was always prompt to arrive at our appointment times and always worked with our minis for longer each session than she was paid. Our minis were rescue minis and had to be desensitized and their confidence built up. Kate was patient and kind, but also taught them respect. We were very impressed with Kate’s method of training and it has held over the years. We are grateful that we found Kate and we highly recommend her for training or individualized lessons.

Meeting Kate was a blessing to me and my mares! She is extremely knowledgeable with horses all around; especially their behaviors and body language. She really knows the horses mind which helped me to get more comfortable around my 2 mares after not working with them for months! She has a gentle and kind approach with kind correction on behaviors. I have met many horsemen and women in my life and I have to say she is NOT someone with a prideful know it all attitude. She is very mature, personable and professional! She helped me of all people so she can definitely help anyone from riding to ground work etc. If she can work with me and my mares she can handle anything!

Kate is so gifted at teaching kids about horses... how to care for them, how to be safe around them, and how to enjoy them! My kids had such a wonderful time getting to curry the horses and ride them! Such a great experience!
